Building a ranking of markets based on music retail & digital value

What and where country rankings are

Country rankings can improve your experience and productivity on the platform. They can be found in:

Sometimes, you'll find the country dropdown menus divided into 3 main groups. Selecting one of those will allow you to sort data more specifically in All countries, the Top 25, or the Top 50:

How we group and sort countries

To match the reality of the music industry, rather than a straightforward GDP ranking, we've sorted the groups using 3 indexes based on the information available per country:

  1. When the information was available: by music retail value

  2. If there was no data for music retail value: by digital music retail value

  3. When no other information was available: by GDP

Finally, because most charts have a global (or worldwide) ranking, we have placed it as the #1 market in all categories.
